It has been directed to set up cracker shops at open places away from shops, markets, slums and other crowded areas, informed Police Commissioner YB Khurania.

As per the directive, the location of cracker shops should be at least 50 metres away from roads.

The Commissionerate police has asked police stations to identify open spaces for setting up of cracker shops, the police official said.

Cracker shops located in areas belonging to BDA, BMC and CMC need to have permission from the respective authorities, Khurania said. Permissions from Fire department and police are also required, he added.
