Cyclone 'FANI' to make landfall in Odisha at 5:30 pm on May 3

Bhubaneswar: Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm FANI is expected to make landfall in Odisha in the evening of May 3.

Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupad Sethi informed that FANI will make landfall in Puri at 5:30 pm on May 3, as per the forecast of IMD.

The cyclone is located about 610 km south-southwest of Puri and 360 south-southest of Vishakhapatnam. It is moving towards Odisha at a speed of 10 km per hour.

Cyclonic Storm FANI is likely to cross Odisha coast near Satapada in Puri district with maximum sustained wind speed of 175-185 kmph gusting to 205 kmph, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.

After landfall, it is likely to pass through Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore districts, IMD sources said.
