Bhubaneswar: In view of increasing level of air pollution mostly in cities, the state government is mulling to ply electric buses on urban roads.

The electric buses will hit the roads soon in three cities, informed Science & Technology Minister Ashok Panda in Assembly today.

The electric buses will run within 100 km radius covering Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri, he said.

An MoU will be signed in this regard soon, he said adding that various organisations have been proposed for this unique initiative, which will be safe and pollution-free transport system to curb environment pollution.
