Fire at Odisha hospital triggers panic among patients

Jagatsinghpur: Patients at Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital (DHH) here had a narrow escape after a fire broke out inside the hospital late last night.

Fortunately, no casualty or injury was reported in the mishap.

As per the reports, a fire erupted in the Gynaecology department at around 2 AM. Soon after, patients and their attendants vacated the hospital and waited outside for hours till fire officials reached the spot and doused the flames.

On receiving information, Additional District Medical Officer (ADMO) reached the hospital this morning to take stock of the situation.

Though the exact cause behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, electric short circuit is suspected to have led to the mishap.
