Free Wi-Fi service at Odisha’s Cuttack Railway Station goes live

Cuttack, Nov 1:

Free Wi-Fi service was launched at the Railway Station here making it the third such place in Odisha to offer the service.

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Lok Sabha MP Bhatruhari Mahatab inaugurated the high-speed internet service provided by Google in collaboration with RailTel.

This service follows here after launching at Bhubaneswar and Puri.

Notably, a trial run was being conducted during the Durga Puja festival this year.

Under the Digital India initiative, Railways will be providing internet facilities to the passengers at 100 busiest stations by the end of this year.

The free Wi-Fi service will enable visitors and passengers to access Internet through smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Besides other officials, Devraj Panda, Divisional Railway Manager of Khurda Road was also present on the occasion.
