Bolangir: In view of incessant rain causing flood-like situation in Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Bargarh districts, Collectors of the four districts declared closure of all schools and colleges today.

Bolangir Collector Arindam Dakua, who visited several affected areas to take stock of the situation this morning, announced that all educational institutions in the district will remain shut today in order to ensure that students are not put at risk due to the flood-like situation.

As per reports, several areas of Bolangir town have been submerged under waist-deep water due to heavy rain in the last few days. Communication to various places in the district has also been cut off.

Meanwhile, separate teams of the Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) have been pressed into service to rescue people from low-laying areas in the district.
