World famous Joranda Mela kicked off with spiritual fervor in Odisha's Dhenkanal district yesterday.

A huge number of devotees, monks and pilgrims from other states including Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand and neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet have thronged the Mahima Gaadi to participate in 144th Mahakumbh of Mahima sect.

Over 5 lakh devotees witnessed the religious rituals yesterday at Mahima Gaadi. They had the darshan of lamps lit on the occasion at the temple premises.

Notably, the Joranda Mela is celebrated especially by people of Mahima sect.
