Bhubaneswar: The Union Government has sanctioned over Rs 769 crore for altogether 10 road projects in Odisha under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) initiative in 2026-27 financial year. This was revealed by the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today.
“The Union Government has sanctioned over Rs 769 crore for 10 road projects in Odisha under the CRIF initiative in 2026-27 fiscal to strengthen infrastructure and boost development. These projects will play a key role in the improvement of road communication in remote areas of the state,” said the Chief Minister in a social media post.
According to the Chief Minister, the Centre has sanctioned funds for the construction of two new flyovers in Berhampur city. The new flyovers will come up at Tata Benz Square and Giri Road junction in the Silk City, he added.
Similarly, the state government will develop Semiliguda-Handiput road and Lamtaput-Machhkund road in Koraput, stated Majhi.
Moreover, steps will be taken for the widening of Umarkot-Chandahandi-Malgaon road in Nabarangpur and Khariar-Amodi-Beltukri road in Nuapada, added Majhi.
The state government will take up a few road projects in Jharsuguda by utilizing the funds sanctioned under the CRIF. The government will widen Ramgiri-Jirang-Narayanpur road and Adaba-Paniganda road in Gajpati district and steps will be taken for the development of Jaleswar-Batagram-Chandaneswar road in Balasore, revealed the Chief Minister.
Majhi has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for allocating funds for Odisha under the CRIF initiative.
