Bhubaneswar: Anil Kumar Singh, the president of JSW Steel Ltd, has been elected as the chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Odisha State Council, for the year 2026-27.
This was revealed by the industry body today. Manikanta Naik, the managing director of Tata Steel SEZ Ltd, has been elected as the vice chairman of CII Odisha for 2026-27 term.
“CII Odisha remains committed to catalyzing sustainable economic growth and development in the state through augmentation of infrastructure, strengthening the industrial ecosystem, and promoting inclusive social development. CII envisions Odisha as a globally competitive hub recognized for innovation, inclusivity, and resilience, with a vision to foster job creation, enhance industrial productivity, and promote social well-being in the state by 2036,” said Singh while addressing a presser in the capital city today.
The CII will also focus on key growth drivers including tourism, innovation & technology-based economy, agriculture, irrigation & horticulture, metals & mining, manufacturing, port-led development, fisheries & aquaculture, freight and multi-modal logistics, women-led growth, human capital development, empowerment of tribal and vulnerable groups, healthcare and nutrition, arts, heritage & sports, energy transition, disaster resilience, and climate change, he added.
CII Odisha to continue assisting govt on skill-building initiatives
Naik reiterated the councils continued commitment to undertake initiatives for women empowerment and entrepreneurship development through the CII Indian Women Network (IWN). To improve industrial productivity and competitiveness, CII will organize training programmes and workshops on GST, GEM, Total Quality Management (TQM), and export documentation.
The State Council also highlighted CII Odisha’s policy interventions including augmentation of export potential from the state, strengthening linkages between MSMEs and large industries through MSME connect series across Odisha, promotion of infrastructure projects with green certification, and development of medical tourism through improved healthcare facilities and connectivity.
CII Odisha will continue collaborating with the Skill Development & Technical Education Department on skill-building initiatives, submitting industry recommendations on various policy matters, partnering with the government for investment promotion, promoting tourism through engagement with food and travel bloggers, supporting export augmentation and conducting training programmes for officials from Urban Development Department and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), stated the industry body.
Through these initiatives, CII Odisha aims to further strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem and contribute significantly towards the government’s long-term economic and social development vision.
