Cuttack: A young woman died after reportedly falling from the roof of a three-storey building in the Badambadi area of Odisha's Cuttack city late on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Barsha Tripathy. According to initial reports, the incident occurred at around 11.30 pm when she was talking on her mobile phone on the rooftop. She sustained critical injuries after the fall.

Locals rushed her to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear. It is yet to be ascertained whether she accidentally slipped from the roof, was pushed, or if any other factors were involved.

The incident has raised suspicion, while police are investigating all possible angles.

Barsha was staying in a rented accommodation and was preparing for various competitive examinations.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
