Rourkela: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife and dumped her body in a river in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. The incident took place in Jada village under the Gurundia police limits.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Lakshman Oram, suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair. He allegedly took her for an outing, murdered her, tied her body with a rope, and threw it into the Timjore river near Lathikata.

The deceased woman has been identified as Jayanti Kujur, an Anganwadi worker. Following his confession during police interrogation, Lakshman has been detained.

Based on his statement, a search operation is underway in the river to recover Jayanti’s body.
