Bhubaneswar: The Passing Out Parade of the 9th batch DSP probationers was held at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy in the Odisha capital here today.

Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania graced the occasion as chief guest and received the guard of honour.

Altogether five newly-recruited DSPs took part in the Passing Out Parade after successful completion of their probation period at the police academy, said the Odisha Police.

The DGP congratulated the newly-appointed DSPs and called upon them to serve the people with sincerity. He also advised the newly-inducted DSPs to deal with cybercrimes, organised crimes and other challenges with professionalism.

“The training provided at the police academy will make you responsible as well as professional police officers. You should work hard to protect the vulnerable people, particularly the women and children,” said the DGP.

On the occasion, the DGP also highlighted the state government initiatives to strengthen as well as modernize the police administration in Odisha.

“New posts have been created in different uniformed services in the state. Steps have been taken to increase the personnel strength of OSSF, OISF and ODRAF,” added the DGP.

Srusti Pradhan was declared as the best DSP probationer and felicitated with the Governor’s Medal and Trophy.
