Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department in Odisha has issued the notification for admission into undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2026–27. The department also commenced the admission process for the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) in the state.
The students can apply for the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme through the SAMS portal till June 10, said the department.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 places special emphasis on skill development and enhancing employment opportunities for students. In line with this objective, the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme is playing a significant role in integrating academic learning with industry exposure.
For the academic year 2026–27, the AEDP is being offered in 11 subjects, namely Commerce, Home Science, Economics, History, English, Zoology, Mathematics, Library Science, Chemistry, Geology and Botany. Students can enroll in these programmes after completing their +2 education, added the department.
The Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme will provide students with industry experience alongside academic education and help create better employment opportunities for them.
The Higher Education Department has informed that students enrolled in the AEDP will be provided with a one-year apprenticeship opportunity during the third year of the course. The programme also includes a provision for payment of stipend during the apprenticeship period.
