Jharsuguda: A shocking incident has come to light in Jharsuguda district, where a woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her male friend. Both accused have been arrested by the police.

The accused have been identified as Geeta Mirdha and her associate, Tikinu Kisan. The incident occurred in Sagarpali under the Rengali police limits. The deceased has been identified as Shaktidhar Sahu.

According to preliminary investigation, a heated argument broke out between Shaktidhar and his wife Geeta on Tuesday night. Tikinu Kisan was also present at the time of the altercation.

During the dispute, Tikinu allegedly pushed Shaktidhar to the ground and overpowered him. Taking advantage of the situation, Geeta reportedly attacked her husband on the head with a wooden plank from a cot, resulting in his death on the spot.

The accused duo later allegedly disposed of the body by throwing it into a nearby field in a bid to conceal the crime.

Acting on the information, the police launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of both Geeta and Tikinu.

Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain more details and the exact motive behind the crime.
