Bhubaneswar: In directives issued to Collectors, Municipal Commissioners and Presidents of District and City Aahaar Societies, the Housing and Urban Development Department has asked them to streamline and secure the supply of cooking gas for Aahaar Kitchens.

The Director of Municipal Administration, Arindam Dakua asked the above mentioned stakeholders to undertake an assessment of cooking gas availability within their jurisdictions and establish coordination with gas suppliers, distributors, and other concerned agencies.

Dakua further asked these local authorities to act timely and with proactive interventions to prevent any disruption in meal preparation and distribution.

At present, 170 Aahaar Kendras, supported by around 90 centralised kitchens, are serving affordable and nutritious meals to thousands of beneficiaries every day.

Official sources said this strategic focus on strengthening last-mile logistics and inter-agency coordination reflects the Government’s unwavering commitment to food security and urban welfare.
