Bhubaneswar: Odisha-cadre IPS officer Ghanshyam Upadhyay, currently serving as the Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been given two more years of extension in service.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a proposal of the Department of Personnel and Training for extension of the central deputation tenure of Upadhyay and Rajiv Ranjan, another Joint Director of CBI.
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has issued a notification in this regard recently. As per the notification, the central deputation tenure of Upadhyay, a 1999-batch IPS officer, has been extended till June 29, 2028.
With this extension, Upadhyaya would serve under the Central government for altogether seven years.
