Bhubaneswar: A 36-year-old man and his pregnant wife were killed in a road mishap in Odisha’s Jajpur district today. The couple’s four-year-old daughter also sustained critical injuries in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Subrat Sahu and his wife Annapurna Pal (30) of Siha village under Badachana police limits in Jajpur.

The mishap took place on National Highway (NH)-16 near Sankharidihi under Dharmasala police limits in Jajpur in the afternoon.

As per reports, the couple along with their daughter met with the accident while returning home on a scooter after consulting a doctor at Jaraka.

The trio sustained critical injuries in the mishap and was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dharmasala. They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.

However, Subrat and his wife were declared dead on arrival by the doctors at SCBMCH.
