A person was killed as bus of a private university here hit him when he was standing near a traffic post at Xavier Chhak in Odisha capital this morning.

The identity of the deceased was yet to be established.

According to reports, the bus hit the person when the vehicle was on the way to the university carrying the varsity staff. The driver of the bus and the staff fled the spot after the accident, reports added.

Though the person was rescued in a critical condition from the spot by locals and admitted to a private hospital, he succumbed to his injuries there.

On being informed, police recahed the spot and started investigation.
