Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly thrashed a girl with belt on the premises of a movie theatre in Kharavel Nagar area of Odisha capital yesterday.

According to police sources, the accused, identified as Sujan Das of Dumduma here, had an argument with the girl at the parking lot after his motorcycle got shoved against her two-wheeler.

Das allegedly took out his belt and thrashed the girl, who was accompanied by her two friends.

He has been arrested on charges of assaulting the girl, police said, adding that a case was registered and the accused will be produced before court.
