Man's genitals chopped off over family feud in Odisha's Bargarh

Bargarh: In a bizarre incident, genitals of a person were allegedly chopped off by a villager at Nileshwar under Sadar police limits in Odisha's Bargarh district today over family dispute.

The victim, identified as Ashok Barik (35), was initially admitted to Bargarh district headquarters hospital in a critical condition and later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla as his condition deteriorated.

According to reports, a feud was prevailing between Ashok and his brother Seba Barik and sister-in-law Shanti Barik. One Sudam Sahu of the village allegedly attacked Ashok this morning with a sharp razor at the behest of his brother and sister-in-law.

Sudam initially tried to attack Ashok on his neck with the razor but in vain. He later chopped off the victim's genitals and fled the spot.

Police have started investigation into the incident.
