Bhubaneswar: In an attempt to add to the skill set of its employees, Sambad Group organised a skill training program in association with Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) recently.

The employees of the group who do not possess any certification in the field of media and entertainment were asked to appear for a written and verbal test. Upon successful completion of the program, they were awarded certificates on Tuesday.

“Odisha has a glorious history. UNESCO World Heritage site Konark temple, Sambalpuri saree and Pattachitra are some of its examples. The artists or artisans who had created these did not have any formal degree from any institute,” Sambad Group Chairman Soumya Ranjan Patnaik said.

As many as 113 employees including sales managers, sales executives, accounts executives, camera operators among others received the certificates.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education, Sanjay Kumar Singh attended the programme as chief guest.

Sambad Group’s Managing Director Monica Nayyar Patnaik, COO Kamalakanta Mohapatra, MESC vice president Arpanesh Mishra, and other senior members of the Group were present on the occasion.

Sambad Group’s DGM (HR) Baijayanti Kar gave the introductory speech.
