Mercury dips, Odisha's Daringbadi shivers at 3 degree C

Bhubaneswar: The brutal cold continued to grip entire Odisha with the mercury dropped below 10 degree Celsius in 15 towns of the state.

Darignbadi was the coldest place at 3 degree Celsius followed by Phulbani on Tuesday night. The temperature of almost all the towns fell by 14 degree Celsius.

A thin layer of snow was found in many places in Daringabi, G Udaygiri and Belghar area.

The cold conditions are likely to continue till January 29, the IMD predicted.

Entire Odisha shivered under the intense cold yesterday night. While Phulbani recorded 4 degree Celsius, the minimum temperature of Sundergarh was 5.5 degree Celsius, Keonjhar 7.4 degree Celsius, Bhawanipatna 7.5 degree Celsius, Angul 7.6 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda 7.8 degree Celsius, Hirakud 8.3 degree Celsius, Sonepur and Balangir 8.5 degree Celsius, Baripada 8.6 degree Celsius, Sambalpur 8.9 degree Celsius, Balasore and Dehnkanal 9.3 degree Celsius, Talcher 9.9 degree Celsius, Koraput and Titilagarh 10 degree Celsius.

The temperature in Cuttack was 11 degree Celsius, while Bhubaneswar recorded 10.6 degree Celsius. In Chandbali, Puri, Paradip, Gopalpur and Malkangiri, the minimum temperature was 10.8 degree Celsius, 13.2 degree Celsius, 13.5 degree Celsius, 13.5 degree Celsius and 13.6 degree Celsius respectively.
