Angul: Less than 24 hours after Rs 23 lakh and gold ornaments were looted from Andhra Bank in Odisha's Angul district, unidentified miscreants allegedly decamped with cash from State Bank of India's Bantala branch here last night.

According to reports, the looters entered inside the bank, located 300 metres away from Bantala police station, by breaking its window. The robbers then looted cash from the cash counter and tried to break the strong room's iron chest.

However, they fled the spot soon after the siren of the bank blew. On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot this morning and started investigation.

The CCTV footage of the bank will be examined to identify the wrongdoers, sources said.

It may be recalled here that, a group of armed miscreants had looted over Rs 23 lakh and gold ornaments at gunpoint from Andhra Bank's Angul branch yesterday around 10:30 am.
