Monumental tricolour hoisted atop 100ft flagpole at JSPL

Barbil: A giant monumental national flag was hoisted at Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL)’s pellet plant here on Thursday. The tricolour was unfurled by Executive Director (M&M) of JSPL Shri Ashish Kumar atop 100ft mast in the presence of other officials and employees of the company.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said, “I am extremely elated that a monumental flag has been installed here. I am sure the tricolor will keep on instilling a sense of patriotism and inspire everyone to dedicate themselves towards serving the nation”.

This is the third monumental flag in Odisha under the umbrella of the Flag Foundation of India (FFI), after one each at JSPL’s Angul plant and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar.

Executive Vice President and Unit Head of the plant G Suresha said, “The national flag will certainly evoke nationalistic sentiment among the employees and Community”.

The 100ft height mast with 30ftX20ft flag has been established by FFI. With this, the number of monumental flags hoisted by FFI in India has reached 68.

The monumental flag is made of knitted polyester fabric called ‘Deneir Polyester’. The Chakra of the flag is printed by using specialized printing process.

Among others EVP and Head (Commercial) S.K. Agrawal, VP (Mechanical Maintenance & Projects) V.C.S. Rao, AVP and Head (Finance) Manas Dash and, AVP and Head (HR & ES) B.B. Pradhan were present on the occasion.
