"Some people are asking for idols of 'Dinosaur Ganesha', some ask for 'Pagdi Ganesha', but most of the people want the Mumbai famous 'Lalbaug Ganesha', which is unique in its own way," says local sculptors.

Tikam Mohapatra, a sculptor of Maa Gouri Murti Bhandar near Punama Gate in Old Town says, "This year, the "Mumbai-style" Ganesha idol's demand is much higher than the other idols. That is why some Bhubaneswar workers learned this different technique so that they could make the same beautiful idols here in Bhubaneswar".

Other than Lalbaug Ganesha, a variety of other Ganesha idols are also in demand, such as Mandar Pataria Ganesha, Natraj Ganesha and Surya Singhasan Ganesha. The price range for these idols varies from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 30,000.
