Berhampur: Nirmal Jhar, one of famous tourist destinations in Odisha's Ganjam district, has to be your next getaway. This temple, famous for its perennial stream amidst nature, is an architectural masterpiece. The placid environment here is sure to drive away your stress.

Here are some interesting facts about Nirmal Jhar:

'Nirmal Jhar' is derived from Sanskrit words Nirmal (pure) and Jhar (stream).

This scared stream originates from the foothills of Marua hills, a part of Badaghati mountains of the Eastern Ghat.

This stream forms two natural pools within the temple premises.

Raja Aparjita Sri Balukeswar of the Mardaraj Dynasty in Khallikote built this elegant temple in the year 1676.

There are other temples dedicated to Lord Neelakantheswara, Lord Jagannath, goddess Vimala, Lord Radhakrishna, Lord Ganesha and the Sun god.

Two kilometers from Nirmal Jhar is Khallikote King's palace, which is yet another sight to behold. You can also visit Jhadeshwar temple (Shiva temple) about 4 km from Nirmal Jhar.
