Rourkela: Body of a woman with grievious injuries on face was recovered near a temple at Sector-6 in Odisha's Rourkela city today.

The deceased was identified as Sujata Mohapatra, a life insurance agent and resident of Koel Nagar here.

Though the actual reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that she was crushed to death with stone by someone.

Locals spotted the body at a bush this morning and informed the police about it, following which cops reached the spot, seized the body for post-mortem and started investigation.

Worth mentioning, a scooter, bearing registration number OD 14B 3762, was found parked near the body.

"The circumstances under which she was murdered can only be known after investigation," said Rourkela ASP Debi Prasad Dash.
