Fire Services Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant boosts fleet with new vehicles

Rourkela: The Fire Services Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has augmented its emergency response fleet with the induction of one new Foam Fire Tender and two Fire Master Jeeps. The vehicles were commissioned in the presence of Mr. R N Rajendran, CGM In-Charge (Mechanical & Shops), Mrs. Asha S Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services), Mr. Etua Oraon, CGM (Plate Mill), Mr. D Palo, CGM (Mechanical), and Mr. J B Pattnaik, GM (Fire Services) at a programme organised at the Central Fire Station on 21st June, 2025. The programme was attended by senior officers of different departments, representatives of the suppliers M/s Rohit Enterprises, New Delhi and M/s Integrated Fire Protection Pvt Ltd, Kolkata, along with a large number of Fire Service Personnel of RSP.

The newly inducted vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art fire-fighting systems and advanced rescue gear, including proximity suits. Designed for high efficiency and rapid response, these vehicles can navigate narrow and congested areas across the plant and township, ensuring swift action during emergencies. Their enhanced features will contribute significantly to reducing response time and improving overall fire safety infrastructure.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Subhabrata Sahoo, Deputy Manager (Fire Services).
