Baripada: On the occasion of International World MSME Day, a special district-level event under the ‘Udyami Odisha MSME Program’ was organized by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Mayurbhanj, at the historic Sri Ram Chandra Library in Baripada yesterday. The seminar, themed 'Entrepreneurship Awareness and Credit Facilitation,' aimed to empower local aspiring entrepreneurs and scale up existing micro-enterprises across the region.

Attending the event Minister for Housing and Urban Development and Public Enterprises, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra emphasised the state’s absolute commitment to building a robust, self-reliant ecosystem for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He highlighted expanding financial literacy and radically streamlining access to institutional credit are vital keys to unlocking Mayurbhanj’s vast, untapped entrepreneurial potential.

"Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Ji, our government is aggressively boosting the MSME sector as it is the backbone of our economy. We are fully focused on bridging the gap between credit availability and grassroots innovation to accelerate regional economic growth," stated Mahapatra.

Highlighting the state government's key initiatives on women-led development, the Minister spoke about the recent landmark launch of the ‘Odisha Chapter of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)’ by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in collaboration with NITI Aayog. He reiterated that this unified platform will ensure seamless financial access, mentorship, and market linkages, firmly positioning women as the primary leaders of Odisha's growth story.

The programme featured detailed interactive sessions on various state and central government credit schemes, financial inclusion blueprints, and subsidy structures designed to de-risk rural enterprises. Senior officials from the District Industries Centre, banking representatives, and local administrative bodies also attended the session, guiding attendees on instant registration and seamless loan clearance mechanisms.
