Odisha clears Rs 2 lakh crore investment proposals; 28k jobs on cards

Bhubaneswar: The 20th High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Kharavela Bhavan here today approved five projects having investment of Rs 2.04 lakh crore, which will create 27,645 employment opportunities in the state.

Here are the projects and their employment potential:

1. Jindal Limited's Cold Rolling Complex of 0.50 MTPA and Steel Processing Plant at Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur district.

Project cost: Rs 1676 crore. Employment potential: 1300.

2. Haldia Petrochemicals Limited's hydrocarbon processing complex comprising of light crude oil refinery, aromatics complex and Ethylene Cracker Complex near proposed Subarnarekha port in Balasore district.

Project cost: Rs 78,225 crore. Employment potential: 10,000.

3. Indian Oil Corporation Limited's expansion of existing refinery unit and setting up of a petrochemical complex at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district.

Project cost: Rs 100300 crore. Employment potential: 12,595.

4. Talcher Fertilizer Limited's coal-based urea fertilizer complex of capacity 1.99 MMTPA at Talcher in Angul district.

Project cost: Rs 14732 crore. Employment potential: 550.

5. Indian Oil Corporation Limited's manufacturing unit for production of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) of 1.2 MMTPA capacity in its existing refinery at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district.

Project cost: Rs 9136 crore. Employment potential: 3200.
