Odisha forms five committees for reform in higher education

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government formed five committees to bring reform in higher education system and impart quality education.

The panels will give their reports to the government about different subjects.

A committee headed by Utkal University vice chancellor and comprising the vice chancellors of Berhampur University, Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University and Odisha State Open University as members has been constituted for unitary admission process for all the universities.

Similarly, another committee has been formed for On Time Graduation (OTG) monitoring system in the state varsities. The panel is headed by IAS Parameswar B and comprises of the examination controllers of North Odisha University, Rama Devi Women's University, Utkal University and Berhampur University as other members.

The government has formed a committee headed by Rama Devi Women's University vice chancellor to bring reform in UPSC examinations, National Eligibility Test (NET), PG courses and change in graduation degree courses in pattern of central universities. The panel has been asked to submit its report to the higher education department within two months.

A five-member committee has been constituted for reformation in managing the examinations in universities, autonomous colleges and Plus Three degree colleges. The panel is led by Gangadhar Meher University vice chancellor. Utkal University Examination Controller Pradip KUmar Behera, Berhampur University Examination Controller, Khariar and BJB Autonomous College Principals have been selected as the members of the committee.

A committee headed by Fakir Mohan University vice chancellor comprising of vice chancellors of North Odisha University, Utkal University, Berhampur University and Examination Controller of Gangadhar Meher University to prepare an academic calendar for conducting examinations, announcing results and providing certificates in degree and PG courses. The higher education department has asked the panel to submit the report within two months.
