People in Odisha’s Sambalpur are on cloud nine as a local girl is representing the country at an international beauty pageant.

Srishti Vyakaranam is representing India at the Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 underway at Manila, Philippines.

Forty candidates are competing at the relaunch of the Miss Asia Pacific International beauty contest. After a 10-year hiatus, the most popular beauty pageant in Southeast Asia made a grand comeback this Thursday.

The grand finale of the contest will be held at the Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa, Palawan on Nov. 23.

Meanwhile, her parents – VK Sanjeev and V Saluja – residing at Pradhanpada in the western Odisha town are upbeat about their daughter’s crowning at the contest.

Earlier, she had won Miss Congeniality at the second edition of Campus Princess 2016 held in Mumbai. She was also among the top 16 contestants for Miss Diva 2016 held in September this year.

She did her schooling from St.Joseph's Convent Higher Secondary school in Sambalpur. Later, she received her engineering degree from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITM) University in Visakhapatnam.

Presently, she is pursuing her PG certification in Digital Marketing.
