Berhampur: Making the state proud, the students of government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Berhampur achieved a huge success for their magnificent creation out of wastes.

The ITIans scripted history after a 70-ft-high scrap guitar registered a place in the Asia Book of Records.

With guidance by Principal Rajat Kumar Panigrahi and other teachers, around 150 students of five trades -- fitter, electrician, welder, turner and painter -- built the huge guitar from scrap including various recyclable materials in just 3 months 22 days.

Their unique sculpture was approved for the registration under Grand Master Category of Asia Book of Records.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hailed the students of Berhampur ITI engaged in the project that entered into Asia Book of Records.

"Congratulations to students of ITI Berhampur for their artistic creation, 70ft guitar from waste materials, entering into Asia Book Records. Happy to see our youth embrace such worthy causes to show their skills and shine on global platforms," Patnaik wrote on Twitter.
