Odisha: Rajendra University, Lamtaput College to get govt plots for infra development

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will provide a piece of land to Rajendra University in Bolangir district for infrastructure development at the institute.

The state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a proposal to lease out 8.693 decimal government land at Bolangir Mouza to Rajendra University without any premium or incidental charges for infrastructure development at the institute, said PK Jena.

Similarly, the state government has also decided to provide a piece of government land measuring around 5 decimal at Brahmaniput mouza to Lamtaput Degree College in Koraput district on lease basis for construction of a building.

The government land will be provided to the college without any premium or incidental charges, said the Chief Secretary.

In another development, the state Cabinet has approved a proposal for amendment of Odisha Secretariat Executive Assistants’ and Personal Assistants’ (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1997.

The amendment will raise the promotion quota of Group-D employees from the existing 5 per cent to 20 per cent in order to provide a wide scope for promotion of Group-D employees to Group-C posts of Junior Executive Assistant.
