Bhubaneswar: Good news for the students aspiring to get enrolled into technical education courses in western Odisha region, as the much-awaited Industrial Training Institute (ITI) will be a reality soon at Bijepur in Bargarh district.

A notification in this regard has been released by the Skill Development & Technical Education department.

"With a view to strengthen ITI training facilities at the Biock level and to facilitate skill training need of local youth, Government have been pleased to sanction establishment of one Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Bijepur Block in Bargarh District under the craftsman Training pattern out of State plan budgetary allocation," said a notification dated August 1.

The notification for proposed ITI came ahead of the bypoll to the Bijepur Assembly seat, which was vacated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik following a landslide victory in Assembly Elections 2019.

After forming the government for a record fifth consecutive term, the CM had announced Rs 1,330 crore package, including plans to provide pucca houses to 34,000 households in Bijepur Assembly constituency, from where he was elected with huge margin of votes.

He had also announced to set up ITI at Bijepur and two skill development centres at Gaisilet and Barpalli.

Worth mentioning, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Supremo Patnaik had contested from Hinjili and Bijepur and won the both Assembly constituencies in the recently held elections. However, on June 2, he vacated Bijepur seat and retained Hinjili.
