Bhubaneswar: The conjoined twins from Odisha– Jaga and Kalia– whose heads were separated on October 25 at the AIIMS in New Delhi, have been shifted to ward from ICU, informed Health Minister Pratap Jena today.

"Jaga has been shifted to normal ward and is being looked after by his mother. Kalia's health condition is stable and he has been shifted to normal ward from ICU as well. A plastic surgery was conducted on Kalia for which a specialist doctor from Coimbatore was roped in. Jaga's eyes were examined in the meantime and the organs are currently in good condition," said Health Minister Pratap Jena speaking to reporters here.

The twins hailing from Kandhamal district were separated following a 16-hour-long surgery at AIIMS. A team of around 30 specialists from the institute’s neurosurgery, neuro-anaesthesia and plastic surgery departments had performed the marathon surgery.
