Odisha's SCB medical college to offer B.Sc Nursing

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government decided to introduce B.Sc Nursing course at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The admission into 100-seat B.Sc Nursing will start from 2018-19 academic session, informed Health & Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena here on Thursday.

The building for the course has been completed and other related work has been expedited. The newly constructed building will be inaugurated soon.

The government has provided essentiality certificate and NOC required for the course, Jena said.

On the other hand, the courses -- Basic B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing -- will be offered at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR). While there will be 50 seats for Basic B.Sc Nursing course, the B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing courses will be introduced with student strength of 25 seats each. The admission into the courses will begin from the upcoming academic session 2018-19, he added.
