Odisha's Sudarsan Pattnaik carves longest sand sculpture of Lord Buddha

Bhubaneswar, May 11:

Bringing laurels to Odisha and the nation and adding another feather to his cap, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created world's longest sand sculpture of Lord Buddha at the 14th International Vesak Day Celebrations in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The mesmerizing sand sculpture created by the ace sand artist from Puri is 40-feet long, which is being showcased at the event organised by the Government of Sri Lanka.

Pattnaik was invited by the High Commission of India in Colombo to participate in the International Vesak Day Celebrations.

Sudarsan had recently won the jury prize gold medal at the Xth World Sand Sculptures Championship 2017 in Moscow, Russia.
