Picnic bus overturns in Odisha's Ganjam, over 20 injured

Berhampur: More than 20 persons sustained injuries after a bus, in which they were heading towards Bankeswari Peetha in Odisha's Ganjam district for picnic, turned turtle near Gokarnapur village in Digapahandi early this morning.

According to reports, the victims, all residents of Salia Sahi in Bhubaneswar, had started their journey to Bankeswari Peetha from the capital city by a private bus bearing registration number- 0R02-AJ-2583 around 1 am.

The driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control over the wheels near Gokarnapur around 4 am following which it overturned leaving over 20 passengers injured.

The condition of three of them is stated to be critical. The injured ones have been admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
