Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with a woman beneficiary of Ujjwala Yojana from Odisha while reviewing work progress of the central scheme today.

Suchsmita Kabata from Mayurbhanj district was among the women beneficiaries under the scheme who bagged opportunity to directly talk to Prime Minister and shared her experience after using LPG for cooking.

Modi directly interacted with her through a video conferencing with help of Narendra Modi (NaMo) App to review the success of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

Suchsmita got LPG connection under Ujjwala Yojana on May 2, 2018.

"Earlier, I was cooking with traditional firewood that was taking long hours and I was not able to give my time to my children and family. After I got the LPG connection, I can cook food very fast and spending time with my family and children at home," she told Modi.

I was facing a numerous problems when I was cooking with firewood. At times, I was not able to prepare food for my children during rainy season after water entered into the chulah. My children had to remain hungry as there was no more option to cook for them. With the LPG cooking gas, the problems are gone and I am quite happy," she said.

"Now I can prepare varieties of food items for my children quickly," she said expressing thanks to the Prime Minister, who made it possible.

Modi asked her whether she is getting LPG cylinder regularly and experiencing no irregularities in cylinder delivery and Subsidy.

He suggested her not to rely on any middleman to get cylinder. He asked her to make complaint with him directly if she encounters any issue related to it.

The Prime Minister Office also mentioned the name of Suchsmita in a tweet to say how the scheme has transformed her life.

A special programme was held at IOCL in Bhubaneswar where Suchsmita directly talked to the Prime Minister through video conferencing.

Seems like, Modi is quite attached to Odisha people for several reasons. A day after he praised a tea seller from Cuttack for his contribution to society in educating more than 70 slum children, he interacted with a woman beneficiary from tribal district of Odisha.
