International sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a sand animation promotional video for the upcoming beach carnival in Odisha’s holy town of Puri from Friday.

The sand animator has shot a 4:13 seconds video to promote the seven-day event here.

For the first time such a mega event is planned in Odisha in the tourist season. The carnival, which will be held on the lines of Goa carnival, will have lots of fun and entertainment activities for tourists as well as locals in the next one week.

The cultural extravaganza will begin with a colourful carnival parade showcasing the cultural diversity of Odisha with a procession of decorated bullock carts and rickshaws which will be accompanied by naval band, school children, Sahi Medha, Ghantua, Odissi, Mahari, Sambalpuri, Pala, Gotipua, and Chhau performers.

The 3-km stretch from Mayfair Beach to Jatrika will be agog with activity. The activities include yoga, beach cycling, bike stunts, beach volleyball, roller skating, parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, speed boat rides, zorbing among others. Laser show and fireworks have been included in the schedule to light up the evening sky.

Odisha Tourism expects a significant footfall in the first of its kind festival in the state.
