Puri, Jun 6:

With nearly 20 days remaining for the grand Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings in Odisha's Puri, the servitors engaged in the construction of chariots stopped their work today demanding hike in remuneration.

The Viswakarma, Maharana and Bhoi servitors boycotted the Ratha construction work demanding 150 per cent hike in their daily remuneration, reports said.

However, the sevayats resumed work after intervention of Niti administrator and Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), reports added.

SJTA chief administrator Pradeep Jena met the three chief Maharanas and assured them of fulfilling their demands following which Ratha construction work resumed.
