Bhubaneswar:  Odisha’s ruling party, BJD today cautioned the BJP to refrain from using Sri Mandir and Lord Jagannath for politics or meet its doom.

“In the political history of Odisha no leader or party has ever used Sri Jagannath Temple, Lord Jagannath or the sentiments of His devotees for politics,” said BJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Keshari Deb.

“Those who have attempted in the past have met their doom. If Shri Shah is harbouring such thoughts, I would again like to tell him with all humility that he should change his policy otherwise Lord Jagannath will reply back,” he cautioned while responding to BJP national President Amit Shah targeting the State government over the missing keys of Sri Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandar.

Earlier in the day, while addressing poll booth workers, Shah had targeted the State government over the missing keys of the Jagannath temple’s Ratna Bhandar, saying that if it cannot safeguard the hopes of Hindus, how could it protect the State’s interests.
