Bhubaneswar: The Sahitya Akademi Executive Board chaired by its president Prof. Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari today approved award of prestigious Yuva Puraskar-2017 to popular young Odia poet Suryasnata Tripathy for his anthology of poems ‘E Sampark Emiti’ in Odia.

Similarly, the Akademi’s Executive Board approved award of prestigious Bal Sahitya Puraskar-2017 to famous litterateur Dr. Subhendra Mohan Srichandan Singh for his total contribution to children’s literature in Odia language.

While other two books written by Tripathy are ‘Hazaare Janha Ra Rati’ and ‘Gangasiuli Ra Gapa’, Dr. Srichandan Singh has written over 100 books.

Each of them will be conferred with the awards in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a cheque of Rs 50,000 at special functions on a later date.
