Three from Odisha to receive Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi award

Bhubaneswar, May 27:

Three eminent artists from Odisha -- Odissi Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, theatre director Satyabrata Rout and Pala singer Laxmidhar Rout -- have been nominated to receive Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi award this year.

The veteran artists were selected for the prestigious award for their contribution in their respective fields.

They will be conferred the award by President of India at a function in New Delhi.

Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's first national academy for music, dance and drama, was set up with an objective to coordinate and promote research in fields of Indian music, dance, drama, threatre and other traditional arts.
