Bhubaneswar/Khordha: In a tragic road mishap, two schoolteachers were killed as a car crashed into the scooter riding on Gohira Chhak on Khandagiri-Khordha road of NH-16 this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Binodini Nayak, a teacher of Bhagabat Basudev Bidyapitha, Kantia and Gokul Charan Mohanty, the retired headmaster of NDRC High School, Kantia.

According to reports, Gokul was riding the scooter with Binodini as pillion rider when they met with an accident with a car. While Binodini died on the spot, Gokul was rushed to Capital Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries this evening.

Sources said that while the driver of the car fled the accident spot, irate locals vandalised the car.
