Utkala Dibasa fervour grips Ekamra Walks in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The participants of Ekamra Walks were in for a musical treat on the premises of Mukteswar-Siddheswar temple this morning. 

Playing the State Anthem, 'Bande Utkala Janani', Susanta Kumar Jena on his tabla and Chandan Sethi with the violin left the visitors spellbound. They went on to play other patriotic songs. 

Celebrating Utkala Dibasa, and expressing their love for this state of fine arts, the visitors, comprising NRIs, IT professionals, tourists from Karnataka and West Bengal and locals, walked around the temple premises stalking the length of the history attached to it.

There also enjoyed an Odissi recital at Art Vision, the institute established by Italy-born Odissi Guru Ileana Citaristi. "I was really overwhelmed with today’s walk from the beginning till the end,’’ said one of the visitors, Sharbani.

Sonia, who works as Project Coordinator for two city-based affordable housing projects, praised the Odisha government and city denizens for preserving their rich culture while moving ahead with technological advancements.
