Venue changed for Independence Day parade in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The state-level parade for Independence Day will be held at Exhibition Ground here instead of the Mahatma Gandhi Marg in the state capital, informed Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty today.

Speaking to newsmen here, Mohanty said four troupes-Territorial Army, Telengana Police, Central Armed Police and Odisha Special Armed Police will participate in the state-level parade this year. Elaborate arrangements will be put in place for security and smooth management of traffic to the parade venue.

Earlier this month, three alternate venues- Exhibition Ground, Janata Maidan and Kalinga Stadium- were proposed for the state-level parade venue.

It may be mentioned here that the state-level parade on Independence Day and Republic Day is held at Gandhi Marg here every year.
