Cuttack: A person was visibly thrashed by a girl and later by a youth for allegedly passing lewd comments at her during immersion procession of Goddess Kali's idol near Bidyadharpur in Odisha's Cuttack.

According to reports, an exchange of words ensued between the two after the girl opposed his act.

The situation turned tense as the girl started manhandling him and later slapped him. Intervening in the matter, another youth soon started thrashing the person.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. Police have released the concerned person after issuing him a warning.
