Malkangiri: Honesty and hardwork pay off. And, the outgoing SP of Maoist-infested Malkangiri district Jagmohan Meena has proved it.

The IPS officer, who has been transferred to Angul during the recent IPS reshuffle, received a grand farewell from Jawans as well as locals on his last day in office as the Malkangiri SP yesterday. A video of the farewell event which shows love and admiration of people towards the cop has gone viral on social media.

On Wednesday, a meeting was held to bid adieu to the IPS officer.  Over a hundred Jawans garlanded the outgoing SP and brought him in a grand procession.

With the song Jay Jaykara from blockbuster movie Bahubali playing on the background, hundreds of Jawans and locals were seen dancing, bursting crackers and playing drums during the procession. Moreover, the Jawans were also seen carrying the outgoing SP on their shoulders before reaching the farewell meeting venue. The crowd also greeted the cop’s wife and son to the venue.

Police personnel present at the meeting opined that they would never forget the pro-people attitude and strong administrative skills of Meena, who served as Malkangiri SP for two and a half years. They also admired the cop for his efforts in maintaining law and order and curbing naxal activities in the district.

Worth mentioning, Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo has been appointed as the new SP of Malkangiri.
